Rio Breaks – London Premiere

My homie from LA Justin Mitchell is coming to London for the premiere of his film Rio Breaks this Friday at The Empire, Leicester Square and I am so looking forward to seeing him and watching the film as it is all set in one of my favourite places: BRAZIL.

Women Are Heroes

An emotive and moving trailer of the film ‘Women are Heroes’ by the infamous French photographer JR who in 2008 traveled to the corners of the world to capture in photo and film the strength, courage and dignity of women who live in areas of conflict. Sorry the first vid is in French, I read French but even if you don’t the imagery is powerful alone.

JR wanted to help women fulfill their need to tell their stories, with the life in their faces and the pain in their hearts.

(Warning: this clip is pretty hard hitting)

JR has been awarded the TED 2011 Prize for his fascinating, innovative photography projects.

The world’s streets and hills are his canvas.

I am in awe of his creativity and his selflessness – to this day he remains anonymous so as to ensure his subjects and their stories are the focus of the public.

The day I met Idris <3

This week I was invited to the London preview screening of The Losers, a comic-based film due for release at the end of May.

With a very hot cast (Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Zoe Saldana, Idris Elba, Chris Evans, Columbus Short, and Óscar Jaenada), some steamy scenes and of course lots of action and a fair few LOL moments it was thoroughly enjoyable!

Definitely one for popcorn-loving action fiends. And you were reminded throughout the film that it is based on a comic – which isn’t at all a bad thing. It’s lots of light fun. I hope the similar release date for the A-Team movie doesn’t do too much damage.

Now I’m not one for crushes on celebs but meeting Idris Elba in person was definitely the highlight of the evening for me. *swoon*. He’s gorgeous even on crutches. He’d been due to attend the LA premiere but thanks to the ash cloud (and lucky for us!) he was grounded here in the UK along with the two writers – – who wore their suits they’d bought for the glitzy LA premiere!

Make sure you go check it out when it’s released on the 28th May. And shout out to my dear Bruce Wayne for the hook up! x
